Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism
As a parish community, we rejoice with you as we welcome a new child of God into our faith community and once again celebrate the mysteries of God’s love for us and of our salvation. As a community of faith, we also pledge to support you in raising your child to know and love Jesus Christ.
Baptisms are celebrated on scheduled Sundays (usually the first three Sundays of the month) at 1:00pm.
Parents are asked to attend a Baptismal Preparation class before the Baptism. Classes are offered on the 4th Sunday of each month at 1:00pm in church. No classes held in May, November or December.
Godparent Requirements
You should choose a godparent or godparents who will support you in raising your child in a life of faith. At least one godparent must be a Catholic over the age of 16 who has received the sacrament of Confirmation. A non-Catholic, baptized Christian may be chosen as a Christian Witness, as long as one godparent is Catholic.
