The loss of a primary relationship causes a deep –seated sadness. At the time of divorce there are many emotions inside your head and heart—anger, confusion, loss, guilt, betrayal, rejection and fear—to name a few. Whether your divorce is recent or years ago, each individual journeys through loss in different ways, at different times, and with different needs. Our parish recognizes the difficult nature of life at this time and we are pleased to offer a self-help group for people who are divorced or separated. The group will meet every other Friday evening for two hours in the Parish Center. We will begin on:
Friday, February 13, 2009 at 7pm and will use the Divorce & Beyond Recovery Program. The book can be purchased at the Parish Center for $10. Participants are encouraged to read the first chapter before our first meeting. Through prayer, personal reflection and sharing, reading material, and exercises the group hopes to provide special comfort, insight, healing and growth. Because the group will share deep feelings and sensitive experiences with each other, after the second week any new participants will meet separately to discuss related topics. If you have any questions about this support group please call Marianne Firlit or MJ Martin at the Parish Center.
