Scripture groups meet weekly during the school year to study, reflect upon and pray with the scripture. Some groups choose the Sunday scripture readings and others select a particular book of the Old or New Testament for their study. Most often, parishioners facilitate these bible study/prayer groups. This year Little Rock Scripture Study studied the Books of Samuel, St. Pauls Captivity Letters and First and Second Thessalonians. Sr. Josephine and Fr. Kieran led small groups in weekly study of the Sunday scriptures, and during Advent and Lent, parishioners met weekly in small groups at their homes to discuss the Sunday scriptures, share their faith and grow together in knowledge. Also meeting at our Parish Center is The Chicago Catholic Scripture School, a 4-year (60 hours per year) substantive study of the Bible. There are numerous Bible study Groups at SJC.
